Solaris
Sustainable construction
a building that is both reproducible and responsible
With the construction of Solaris, as referenced on the websites www.sustenergy.org and www.constructiondurable.com, Herpain Urbis has voluntarily taken a step towards the development of a new generation of responsible buildings. It is all about reducing the building’s carbon footprint, on the one hand by consuming less thanks to better insulation and high-performance equipment, and on the other by consuming better thanks to its use of renewable (photovoltaic and geothermal) energy.
Energy performance level (E) = 74
Global thermal insulation level (K) = 39
Photovoltaic solar energy
Photovoltaic panels allow for the collection of solar energy and its conversion into electricity. Working from a site facing fully south, the architects designed a curtain wall façade fitted with photovoltaic solar panels covering a surface of approximately 300 m². On the flat roofing, additional photovoltaic panels increase the possibility for harnessing sunlight, bringing the size of the total system to around 800 m².
